Juan José Contreras
Juan José Contreras González is a Mexican composer born in 1993. He studied Musical Composition and Theory of Music at Centro de Investigación y Estudios de la Música (CIEM), both degrees awarded by the University of West London. He also graduated as a Mechatronics Engineer from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Essex.
His music has been performed in Mexico, Argentina and the United Kingdom, and has participated in the Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez and the International Rostrum of Composers.
He is currently researching human activity as a musical element at the University of Birmingham. Thanks to his mixed academic background, his work integrates science, art, and technology to create music that accentuate sound as a constant medium that allows us to experience our surroundings.
